Teddy Bear Week

Last week we read lots of stories about teddy bears. We learnt how to draw teddy bears, we made a teddy bear. We also made teddy bear chocolates and we brought our teddies to school.

Kite Flying

Last week we made kites to help us learn about force. On Monday we went and flew our kids. It was a lot of fun and our kites flew really well. We learnt that the wind blows our kites and pushes them up in the air.

Gym

For the past four weeks Room 12 and 14 have been going to the Boys and Girls Gym Club. They have learnt how to jump and land safely, do a forward roll, balance and have fun.

2d Shapes

We have been learning about 2d shapes. Today we took the cameras out and took photos of shapes around the school. We then had to be able to describe our shape.

Kerpoof

Today when we went to Room 7 we looked at the program Kerpoof On Kerpoof you can draw a picture, make a movie, make a card, make a book. These are some of the things that we did using the Program.

One to one pointing

Our new students are becoming fantastic readers and writers. As beginner readers they have to be able to point to each word as they read.

 

William, Sophie and Connor are also learning to write high frequency words.

Shape Monsters

In maths we have been learning about 2d shapes. We all made shape monsters.To make our shape monsters we had to use a big shape then on it have a triangle, semi circle, circle and square. When we finished them we put eyes onto them. 

Learning the word 'My'

Today Sophie, William and Connor learnt to write the word my and then recognise it in their reading book.

Look at the fantastic one-one pointing they each did as they read their book.

Gym

On Wednesday we went to the boys and girls gym club for our second session. We learnt how to balance.

Makaiden said, "That it was a lot of fun balancing on one foot". Lilly said, "It was a lot of fun . We had to balance on each others back with one foot. It was hard."

Once they had finished learning this skill they went and did some circuits to put this into practice. The children love going to the gym and can't wait till they go next week.

Tug of war

Today as the start of our inquiry 'move it'! The junior school had a tug of war. We had to think about wether we pushed or pull. We all had a lot of fun.

School Visits

Last Wednesday we had 3 preschool visitors. We had Mac, William and Tayne. We showed them around school and we had a play on the playground, in the sandpit and on the shuffle bugs. We can't wait until the new members of our class start school.
