Answer to week 9 big question

Ever heard someone called a “sloth” or “slow as a sloth” because they move really slowly? That’s because the sloth — especially the three-toed sloth — is the slowest animal around. Their legs and feet are shaped to hang from trees, so it’s actually hard for sloths to walk on the ground. They can’t run or stand upright on their feet. It would take a sloth nearly a month to walk one mile! Sloths don’t do much walking on the ground, though — they spend their lives hanging upside down in trees. They eat, sleep, and even have babies upside down!

This video shows the top 8 slowest animals.

Ashley Park Visit

Today we went to Ashley Park. When we arrived we had a play on the playground. Then we were each given a bag of food so we could feed the animals. We looked at the different types of birds, then we went and had a look at the animals. We got to pat them and feed them. We saw donkeys, goats, horses, baby pigs, ostrich's, Lama. We had a picnic lunch then went for a walk around the lake before we headed back to school. We had a great day.

Answer to week 8 question

The blue wahale is the largest sea creature. The Blue whales are so big they are the BIGGEST creature ever to have lived on earth - even bigger than the biggest dinosaurs! The LARGEST whale ever measured was a female weighing 171,000 kgs and measuring over 90ft./27m long. The LONGEST whale measured in at over 110ft./33m. If you laid him out on the ground he would take up the length of nine family-sized cars!
