Mystery Envelope

 Today in class we played a game where someone picks a envelope and looks at what is in side. Then everyone else has to guess what is inside it. The person who knows can only say yes or no. We thought we could play this game online. So Mrs Robertson has placed something in the envelope below and we can all guess what it might be. Place your answer on the wall wisher and Mrs Robertson will say yes or know.

Fence Writing

We are getting a new fence at school. Today we talked about what it might look like, be made off and how big it could be. Look at Nikora's and Tyrone's writing.

PATUTUPAIAREHEREHE (Rumplestiltskin)

Today we had the Aranui Theatre Company come and proformed Patutupaiareherehe (Rumplestiltskin). This is adapted from the tale made famous by the brothers Grimm, this version of ‘Rumplestiltskin’ is very much set in Aoedtearoa. 
We really enjoyed the show.

Week 8 Star of the week

The star of the week for week 8 is someone who always does as they are asked. They have worked  really hard to complete all of their work.

Merit Certificates

Today Nikora and Madison received merit certificates in assembly. They got  these for for striving for accuracy in their writing about our trip around Wanganui. They used words that they knew and sounded out unknown words.

 

The Jigaree

Each day after lunch someone reads a big book to the rest of the class. Today Brianna read us the Jigaree. She did a fantastic job of reading the story.

Out and about in Wanganui

Today we went out and about in Wanganui with Room 15. We first went to virginia lake. We walked around the lake, and visited the avairy.

After we finished at the lake we headed of to Kowhai Park. At the park we had morning tea, then we had a play. We had a lot of fun, between sliding down the dinosaur, swinging on the octopus arms, riding moas, charging around the castle, sailing on the pirate ship and conquering the mountain.

When then jumped on the bus and headed up to Bastia Hill Tower. We all had to draw the tower.

We then went up to Queens park. While we were here Mrs Robertson read us 'Charlotte and the Lion'. We then we had a look at the 'hand span' and rolled down the big hill.

We then walked down to Moutoa Gardens. We looked at the Whanganui war memorial. We saw the floral reef that Carlton School Lay at the Anzac services. We then walked across the road to the river boat center and had a look at the old river boat. Then we went to the tram station and saw the tram that has been restored and a tram that they are about to restore.

Farewell

Today we said goodbye to six of room 12 students. They are heading into room14. We hope they have a great time in room 14 and learn heaps.

Art Gallery

Today we went to the art gallery. We had a look at the pictures and sculptures about tree's. We then went and drew our own tree and coloured it with pastel.

Nikora's trip to Samoa

Last week Nikora went to Samoa. Today he told us about some of the things he did and saw. Nikora told us about the Alofa'aga blow holes. This is a 'You Tube' clip of what the blow holes are like.



Nikora also brought us back some Taro chips to try.

Make a digital slideshow

Buddy Art

Last week we started a new piece of art with our buddy. We are now drawing shape people and then using pastels to colour them. Today we had to draw around our person with a sharpie pen. Then we chose 3 colour pastels that blend well together and practiced blending before we started on our pictures.
